Mary is a resident and active member of the art community in Traverse City, MI and the nearby Leelanau Peninsula, where she makes her home. She teaches pastel classes and workshops at the Art Center in Traverse City and surrounding areas and taught a workshop in New Zealand in 2007. She is the president of the Great Lakes Pastel Society and serves on the faculty of The Art Center Traverse City. Her paintings have appeared on the covers of ForeWord Magazine and American Spoon Foods catalogs. Her book Look About You was a northern Michigan best seller and a finalist for Book of the Year with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association. Visit her website at www.rimwalkstudio.com.

Again this summer we partner with the Midland Artists’ Guild and the Downtown Development Authority to host the Midland Artists’ Market on Thursday evenings during Tunes by the Tridge. Artists wishing to sell their work in the Tridge/Farmers’ Market pavilion may register for booth space by calling Elizabeth Walsh at 837-1885 or e-mail creativity@becreative360.org. Visitors to Tunes by the Tridge – bring some cash with you and stop by the Artists’ Market for some great deals on original art and demonstrations by working artists.
Every Thursday evening, 5 – 9 pm, June 4 – 25 and July 9 – August 6. Young artists will exhibit along with adults on July 23.
